Moving on

I’ve really had a magnificent time at The Spa, this is my fourth visit and the same number of cleansing fasts have been completed. This one was different though, this seems like the start of an adventure where each day is a fantastic gift. Everything is possible and I have no concern for either future or past, I am present and enlightened! At least temporary. I have submerged my ego and all that is left is pure being, it has been a terrifying process although 100% worth it. The ego will always in a way be there but it will not be in control as it used to be. Also today I spent 5 hours training to become a Reiki healer, there were four attunement processes and I am now a Reiki I practitioner. The beautiful Gila my Reiki master was the perfect teacher. Her partner, the Zen Buddhist San Bao came home and made us some delicious tea and they both gave me some presents to bring with me to Hajjar, which brings me to my next destination, Urud Thani, north, near the border of Laos. My plane leaves at 06.00 this morning and I need to go to Bangkok first, then another flight to Urud Thani. I’m there 10.50 and will be picked up by some locals at the airport. I always wanted one of these nameplates at an airport, well tomorrow is the time for that fulfillment. I have bought Hajjar a nice present for his retreat center. A juicer that can make juice out of almost everything, fruits, vegetables, berries and leaves. Can't wait to meet him again, my spiritual guide and friend Hajjar Gibran.

The flower of life, magic number 8.

One of the first days I came here I met this really sweet Vancouvian, Canadian woman called Koreanne, she taught me about the magic numbers 1-9 and the cycle of the flower of life. First of all this theory and way of life is based on that everything in the universe as we know it is connected together and that every individual's life can be compared to the development of a "seemingly insignificant" beautiful flower. The phases are as follow: 1. Seed, 2. Water, 3. Sprout, 4. Root, 5. Grow, 6. Bulb, 7. Flower, 8. Fruit, 9. Reseed. It's also divided into 3 main periods: 1. Seeding, 2. Growing, 3. Harvesting. What is interesting with this system is that every cycle repeats itself after 9 years where the cycle is started again using the seeds from your last one. This method describes Karma just perfectly and it just made naturally very good sense to me and I will study it more closely. To figure out your number it's almost like numerology, f.eks. me who is born 08.04.1976 is 8 + 4 + 1 + 9 + 7 + 6 = 35, 3 + 5 = 8, which is my number, 8! So I am in Harvest by nature and more specifically a fruit personality, mmm juicy! that doesn't sound too bad at all ;) What makes this even more interesting is that when she asked me my birthdate and I said 8 of April she told me she was born at the exact same date, 8. April. When I also found out that the whole Spa and also the road to the ATM outside was paved with the number 8 I decided that there has to be something to this. More about this later when I have done some more research.

The path to enlightenment

I'll let you in on a little secret now, it is time. As some of you already know I sold my houses back in Norway, paid all my debt and have no ties anymore. The reason why I went to Thailand was to get in touch with what is and has been natural in all of us since we were born, but that most of us have forgotten; To be, here and now, in this present moment! This is a place that don't exist if we are busy planning ahead, stuck in the past or maybe both. The only one who can remind us is luckily our children and some rare adult who have developed the skills needed. It's also extremely hard to grasp when living in the daily routines of society, although, in my speculations, not impossible with the right tools available and some heavy doses of self-dicipline. So the wisdom I'm hoping to attain on this journey is to learn the skills needed to call upon the present moment wherever I am. I am also prepared to stay here longer or return here if this way of life needs more research. Who knows, maybe I bring the secrets I find with me home and make a living passing them on there.

Coconut seeding

I’m sitting on the beach in the Samui Sundown and reflect upon the first 6 days of fasting. It’s been a weird although utterly fantastic journey through space and time. I’ve had some awake nights with a spinning mind and some wonderful days fully alive, fully aware and present. To reach this place of temporary enlightenment gives me hope that it is attainable over even longer periods of time. As commented earlier this program really gets you in touch with yourself on a deeper level. Since last time I’ve been planting coconut trees, my contribution to Samui’s continous prosperity. Also I did some nice meditation and yoga along with some trips to the steam bath. Today I’m starting my Reiki Healing Practitioner stage I, there are III in total. My teacher Gila is really something special. At day 6 I can feel my energy levels are a bit lower than usual, my special fasting diet don't allow me any carbohydrates, there is only 1,5 days until I can eat proper food again. After that I’m heading for new adventure north in Udon Thani, near the border of Laos. I will do a second fast there with my dear friend and spiritual guide Hajjar Gibran. We will be accompanied by his literary agent Greg and Karin a remerkable spiritual healer from Switzerland.

Yesterday was Toi's birthday and some hungry monks were holding the meditation. They even threw water on us, it felt a little bit like salvation to be honest and for some reason something was released inside me and expressed itself in a tear from each of my eyes. This fasting, cleansing and detoxification process works for the mind and soul as well for the physical body. Anyway, I've never seen anything like Toi's birthday party, Toi is by the way Guy's wife, the owner of this spa and 2 more. In one day, as by magic they made beautiful flower bouquets, the 9 monks above came to bless the whole thing and to eat of course, they made a HUGE stage down at the beach (which in the morning also magically disappeared again...) where ladyboys from Chaweng put on a show together with a bunch of other entertainers. There were probably 500 people here and everything was for free, all kinds of delicious thai dishes and fruits, beer, whiskey whatever you could ask for..The local police was here also in uniforms drinking at a special police table :) I highly recommend anybody who is thinking about visiting this place to book a bungalow well in advance (at least 6 months) at Toi's birthday which is 17.February, before you start the fasting program. Since I was fasting I could only look at all that delicious food. I was tired too so I went to bed early and were awoken every 5 minutes by the high bass that made my bungalow shake and my heart to jump in my chest. Surprisingly they stopped the music around 02.00 in the morning.

Spa Samui detox

I will be here for a week more while doing my fasting, cleansing and detox program. Fasting have been a tradition in Eastern culture and many of the worlds religions for thousands of years. The concept is based on activating the body's natural healing processes, at least in Eastern tradition that is the purpose. What happens when you stop to eat is that all of the cells in the body starts to clean themselves out and brings previously stored toxic waste through the bloodstream to the Colon, to make sure the colon don't re-uptake these toxins I literally flush my ass with coffee and garlic water in the morning and evening. The reason why I do garlic also is that it is really good for reducing yeast overgrowth and killing any possible parasites. Does it sound extreme? maybe, the first time I was here I was saying; no way I'm going through with this thing, are you people out of your minds? Now it's the fourth time I'm here and I can really feel the wonders it does to my body. In seven days all the major organs and the bloodstream have gotten a proper cleanup. You can compare it with having your car on service which seems to be far more important for people than giving themselves some service. If you ask me it's stupid not to do this if you have the chance, it will make you feel and look younger, boost your immune system and prevent future chronic disease. I can't remember the last time I was sick, I worked in a kindergarten for 4 months without getting even a cough.. Well try it out if you want people, here is a link to The Spa so you can have a look for yourself. And don't worry about starving, usually I lose about 5kg of fat during a week but you'll get all the nutrition you need through soups and juices so the hunger is not as bad as you would think. I'll be more than happy to answer any questions concerning fasting and detoxing, so don't be afraid to ask. And please, stay tuned for more happy days..

Daily meditation

San Bao, the travelling, Zen Buddism practitioner was having the meditation yesterday and said some words that I will take with me and share with you: "There is a time to be vigourous and there is a time to be exhausted" what he ment by this was; Don't judge yourself for not being at your best always, lean into the world in your own pace and acknowledge that some days we can allow ourself not to be at our best. These are very simple, but wise words that filled me with peace.

5 nights in Bangkok

Well my fingers are ithcing to start, so that language thingy needs to come second :)

Ah let's start with Bangkok, it's the fourth time I was there and that place really can suck you in, chew you and spit you out again, if you're not careful. Well, since careful is not my middle name I got to have some interesting experiences. One involving meeting a lady boy (Katoy) called Benz and the other having a party on the street with the tuc-tuc drivers (3 wheel mororcycle with a 2-3 person big backseat) just outside Pantip Palaze (Bangkok's biggest electromarket along with MBK). When I first met Benz I knew from the start that she had been a he once. She actually forced my hand down there to feel for myself. Although Katoy's are not my cup of tea sexually, along with thai people in general, she turned out to be very kind. She peeled the best mango ever at her place and she bought breakfast for me, she went off to Singapore on "business" before I left Bangkok.

Meeting and befriending tuc-tuc drivers in the street was the most "cultural" experience I've had in Bangkok and for the second time, I was the one who was wined and dined. The snacks was cashewnuts with salt, small shrimps (kung) with basil and chili and squid in a sour sauce. Perfect drinking food! Along with Thai whiskey (which is kind of dodgy) and loads of beer we had a blast! The guy I got in contact with from the start bought his tuc-tuc for 300.000 bath (appx nkr. 60.000) and lived in an apartment without aircon for 4000 bath a month (appx nkr. 800). He was supposed to go home to his wife and gave the telephone to me when she called :) In the end she came to pick him up and was furious...

As usual when I'm catching airplanes the time seem to run faster than normal. I gave the taxi driver 3 times the amount he should have had, up front! 1000 bath(nkr.180), get me to the airport fast as hell! Thai drivers usually drives dirty without getting asked and this fellow really proved to be worth the money. He saved me 10 minutes on the ride and when I checked in it was 35 minutes before the plane left. At last safe, out of that hellhole which makes hard men humble after only 1 night. I stayed there 5 and imagine how humble my heart is now ;)

Stay tuned..

Separated in fear oneness in love.

We are all different facets of the same diamond, separation and isolation is the work of fear, although sharing our being with others is letting go of the fear and trusting love. Therefore we are one in love and light and alone in fear and darkness.
